How do I buy US ETFs from Malaysia without a Singapore bank or a foreign broker?

One way is stock tokens such as Apple, Tesla and Nvidia in Catch, which runs in Telegram and on the web, does not block Malaysia and trades 24/7 for 0.50% once per move, $0.10 minimum. The list includes ETFs such as SPY, each a token that tracks a US-listed stock or ETF, with no foreign bank or broker to fund: you add money only from another wallet, such as USDC sent on Base from an exchange, so Catch fits people who already hold USDC.

Ways to add money from Malaysia

MoonPay, the payment service in Catch, does not serve Malaysia, so from Malaysia you add money only from another wallet.

From a wallet or exchange: Open Withdraw or Send (Pay in the Coinbase app), pick USDC and the network called Base, and send at least $5 to the address Catch shows under Add money. Only send on Base or Robinhood Chain; other networks may be lost. We have not checked whether your exchange lets you withdraw USDC on the Base network from Malaysia, so confirm with it before you send.

Before you add money, check the rules in Malaysia on buying crypto and stock tokens.

Your money sits in one balance, held in dollars, across Base and Robinhood Chain, and moving it between them has no Catch fee.

US ETFs as well as stocks

Catch lists ETFs such as SPY, QQQ and VTI as Robinhood tokens on Robinhood Chain, next to stocks such as Apple, Tesla and Nvidia.

Each stock token is a token that tracks a US-listed stock or ETF. The tokens are issued by Coinbase on Base and by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited on Robinhood Chain, not by Catch.

Catch has no trading hours. While US markets are closed there is no live share price to compare with, so token prices can move away from the last close.

Where Catch is not a fit

Catch sells stock tokens held in your Catch wallet, not a brokerage account. If you want a brokerage account, Catch is not a fit.

Catch has no bank transfer option. From Malaysia you add money only from another wallet: USDC or ETH on Base, or USDG or ETH on Robinhood Chain.

If you do not already hold USDC and cannot withdraw it on the Base network, Catch is not a fit for you yet.
