How do Ugandans invest in US stocks when sending money to a broker costs so much?
One way is stock tokens such as Apple, Tesla and Nvidia in Catch, which runs in Telegram and on the web, does not block Uganda and trades 24/7 for 0.50% once per move, $0.10 minimum. Each is a token that tracks a US-listed stock, and there is no bank wire to a broker: you add money only from another wallet, such as USDC sent on Base from an exchange, so Catch fits people who already hold USDC and can withdraw it on the Base network.

Ways to add money from Uganda
MoonPay, the payment service in Catch, does not serve Uganda, so from Uganda you add money only from another wallet.
From a wallet or exchange: Open Withdraw or Send (Pay in the Coinbase app), pick USDC and the network called Base, and send at least $5 to the address Catch shows under Add money. Only send on Base or Robinhood Chain; other networks may be lost. We have not checked whether your exchange lets you withdraw USDC on the Base network from Uganda, or what withdrawal fee it charges, so confirm with it before you send.
Your money sits in one balance, held in dollars, across Base and Robinhood Chain, and moving it between them has no Catch fee.
What you are buying
Each stock token is a token that tracks a US-listed stock or ETF. The tokens are issued by Coinbase on Base and by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited on Robinhood Chain, not by Catch.
Catch has no trading hours. While US markets are closed there is no live share price to compare with, so token prices can move away from the last close.
Where Catch is not a fit
Catch sells stock tokens held in your Catch wallet, not a brokerage account. If you want a brokerage account, Catch is not a fit.
Catch has no bank transfer option. From Uganda you add money only from another wallet: USDC or ETH on Base, or USDG or ETH on Robinhood Chain.
Before you send USDC instead of paying for a bank wire, check the rules in Uganda on sending money abroad.
If you do not already hold USDC and cannot withdraw it on the Base network, Catch is not a fit for you yet.
This page does not cover tax or local rules in Uganda; check those for your own situation.
