Can I buy US stocks with a credit card?

One way is stock tokens in Catch, a Telegram app: add money by card through MoonPay, from $30 where card top-ups are offered but not in the UK yet, then buy a token that tracks a US-listed stock or ETF, 24/7, for 0.50% once per move, $0.10 minimum. The tokens are issued by Coinbase or by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited, not by Catch, and the issuers say they are not available to persons in the US.

Buy with a card

  1. Open Catch

Open Catch in Telegram or on the web, on your phone or a computer.

  2. Add money by card

Open Add money and pay by card. MoonPay runs the card payment, and your dollars show in a few minutes to a few hours. The first time, MoonPay asks for your name, date of birth and address, and sometimes a photo ID.

  3. Pick a stock and slide

Choose any stock or ETF on the stocks list, check the price and the fee, then slide to buy. Catch charges 0.50% once per move, $0.10 minimum.

What to know before you pay by card

The least you can add is $5, from an exchange or another wallet. Card top-ups start at $30 where available, but not in the UK yet.

MoonPay's help page lists credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and Maestro, among its ways to pay. Your card issuer may still decline the payment; if it does, send USDC on Base from an exchange or another wallet instead.

Where card top-ups are not offered, Add money says so, and you add dollars from an exchange or another wallet.

Card top-ups arrive on Base. Network and card fees are shown before you confirm.

Your money sits in one balance, held in dollars, across Base and Robinhood Chain, and moving it between them has no Catch fee.

What you are buying

Catch lists 70 stocks and ETFs: 17 have a Coinbase token on Base and 69 have a Robinhood token on Robinhood Chain. Each stock token is a token that tracks a US-listed stock or ETF. The tokens are issued by Coinbase on Base and by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited on Robinhood Chain, not by Catch.

Catch has no trading hours. While US markets are closed there is no live share price to compare with, so token prices can move away from the last close.

Where Catch is not a fit

Catch sells stock tokens held in your Catch wallet, not a brokerage account. If you want a brokerage account, Catch is not a fit.

Catch has no withdrawal to a bank or a card: sell your stock tokens for dollars, then use Send to an exchange to send USDC on the Base network to your exchange.

If you live in the US, Catch is not a fit: Coinbase says its stock tokens are not available to persons in the US and other restricted places. Robinhood says its Stock Tokens are not available to residents of the US, Canada, the UK or Switzerland.
